The 2 brothers (peter and his older brother) were sent back to England for their education. The older brother patrick bought a 20 gun ship, and peter served on the ship with him. They were involved in the slave trader business. When the revolutionary war broke out, they fought on the british side. Near the end of the war, their ship was sank and the brothers were held as p.o.w's in Yorktown .peter became a citizen of U.S.
